Bloom and Grow

My and my group's submission to the 2023 Global Game Jam hosted at the University of Baltimore, Shady Grove Campus. This platformer puts the player in control of a small forest spirit who's objective is to bring life back to a desolate valley by way of the flowers and vines that sprout in its wake.

Our group earned third place in the game jam and plan on continuing to update this game.

As the environment designer for this level, I take pride in the amount of character that I was able to give the level in the short time we were given. Dead trees and muted color tones can only do so much storytelling without the aid of abandoned settlements and mysterious sunken villages.

I also enjoyed the coding work that went into this project and look forward to updating it as I improve my skills. Look forward to plant growth hooked up to an event system that gives the map more life in real time with the player's accomplishments
